What should we know before we decide to exchange currency in
Bulgaria?
In Bulgaria you can exchange money
legally in the street change offices and in the banks.
We advise you to exchange money in the banks. For the purpose you
need to show your identity card. There is no problem to exchange money
in a change office. There are signboards with the exchange rate of
the currency shown. If the information on the signboard is not clear
to you, and for your own certainty, before exchanging money, ask
about the exchange rate and the amount you will get after the
exchange. According to the Bulgarian legislation the bargain is
considered to be concluded after the client signs the check.
That is
why before signing the check, make sure that the amount on the check
corresponds to the amount you should get. If the amount on the check
is not the same as the one you should get, you can ask your money
back and break the deal. If you sign the check, you cannot make
claims towards the currency seller.
