Strengthening Academic Cooperation with the Agricultural University of Plovdiv
We are pleased to announce the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Science & Education Foundation and the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, on 22 July 2024. The agreement was signed on behalf of the University by Prof. Dr. Boryana Ivanova, Rector, establishing a framework for closer collaboration in scientific research, academic publishing, and the organization of international scientific events.

Founded in 1945, the Agricultural University of Plovdiv is one of Bulgaria's most established and respected institutions for agricultural education and research. With nearly eight decades of academic tradition, the University has played a significant role in advancing agricultural sciences, agronomy, plant protection, horticulture, and sustainable agricultural development. Its contributions to scientific research, professional education, and international academic cooperation have established it as a leading centre of agricultural expertise in Bulgaria.

The establishment of this partnership was greatly facilitated by Prof. Dr. Violina Angelova, a distinguished academic and longstanding participant in our international scientific conferences. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for her continued involvement in our scientific community and her valuable efforts in bringing our two institutions together.

Prof. Miroslav Cieslar from Charles University, Prague, Presents Research on Advanced Nanomaterials at Materials, Methods & Technologies 2022
The International Scientific Conference “Materials, Methods & Technologies” 2022, held in Burgas, Bulgaria, was officially opened with a scientific presentation by Prof. Miroslav Cieslar from Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. A longstanding participant in the conference, Prof. Cieslar delivered the opening lecture entitled “NiTi Nanoparticles at High Temperatures”, presenting research on the structural properties and thermal behaviour of advanced nanomaterials.

Prof. Miroslav Cieslar is a distinguished materials physicist, specializing in electron microscopy, phase transformations, the mechanical properties of materials, intermetallic compounds, aluminium alloys, and nanomaterials. His academic career includes research and teaching appointments at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, as well as visiting professorships at universities in France. With decades of research experience and an extensive record of scientific publications, he has contributed significantly to the understanding of material structures and their behaviour under different physical conditions. His opening presentation examined composite nickel and titanium nanoparticles, their microstructure and thermal stability, and their potential applications in joining miniature components of microelectromechanical systems.

We were particularly pleased to welcome Prof. Cieslar as our opening speaker and sincerely appreciate his longstanding involvement in our scientific community.
